Our team at Sunrise Hill Veterinary Clinic is a group of highly trained animal lovers who are dedicated to their job. We love learning everything we can about the veterinary field so we can give all patients the care they deserve.
Our team also treats all patients as if they were our own. All pets that walk through the door get plenty of love and attention so they can stay healthy. When they are ill, our staff makes it our goal to get them back to health as soon as possible.
If you would like to speak to one of our staff members, feel free to contact us today at (402) 358-5631.

Layci Condon & Buck
Layci is a Creighton native. She graduated from Creighton and lives in town with her two dogs, Buck and Spur. She raises her own Black Angus cattle and helps on the family feedlot. In her free time, she spends time barrel racing on her mare Tiger. You will find her in the clinic as the primary receptionist or assistant helping Dr. Koenig.

Cedrela joined the clinic in the summer of 2025 as a Veterinary Assistant. She earned her Veterinary Medicine Degree in Mexico in 2009 and moved to Nebraska in 2021. She is married to Cory Benett and is the proud mother of Joaquin. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors – whether it’s kayaking, hunting or hiking. They work together on their family farm outside of Neligh.

Tom Steinhauser
“Just a good ol’ boy never meaning no harm.” – Waylon Jennings
Tom grew up by Stuart, Nebraska. He spent the last ten years working out on a ranch as a foreman. He moved back to Creighton in 2023 to be closer to his children. You can find him in the clinic helping Dr. Koenig with the livestock or going out to farm calls doing herd work.

Dr. Kerri Koch-Koenig & Donald
Dr. Koenig originally grew up in Crofton. Upon graduation from the 2+2 veterinary program between Nebraska and Iowa State University in 2015, she moved back to Nebraska and worked with Town and Country Veterinary Clinic for eight years as an Associate. She and her husband Jason took over the family ranch near Chambers and later relocated to Creighton in 2022 when she joined the clinic under its prior owner, Dr. Lynn Guthmiller. Dr. Koenig and Jason enjoy living in Creighton and raising their three boys: Ryden, Dylan and Wyatt.

Dr. Lee Nelson
Dr. Lee has been part of the clinic for over 30 years. Dr. Lee started working for Dr. Guthmiller as an Associate Veterinarian, caring for livestock. She transitioned to dog grooming in time as it was kinder on her body. She has much experience grooming dogs and enjoys helping animals look and feel their best. She is very active in the community as an ambulance volunteer and spends her free time baking for the local pioneer club and walking her dog, Gulliver.
